Dean Ornish Support Group in Toronto

Just to clarify, our group is called ADOPT which is an acronym for "Adhere to Dean Ornish Program Today." Some of the members are fairly rigorous in following the low fat diet component of the Ornish program while others are more concerned with inflammation thought to be caused by excessive refined sugars and starches. We all believe in the heart healthy value of connections and support and in the value of stress reducing behaviour including through meditation and yoga.

Cardiac Peer Support Group

For 12 years a group of cardiac patients has been meeting weekly to assist in the management of our cardiac events and/or diagnosis. We meet at the Harbourfront Community Centre near the Island Airport at 6:45 on Wednesdays. We start with an hour of very gentle hatha yoga to suit all levels and then check in, exchange information and offer peer support. We are looking for new members so if you're interested please reply to this post.
